Who We Are:
Randolph County Cornerstone Coalition is a grassroots, non-profit coalition.
Local coalitions have changed the way American communities respond to the threats
of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug (ATOD) abuse. Coalitions have brought together
entire communities to transform themselves. In communities where drugs have created
overwhelming problems, coalitions have been key to the development of effective
solutions.
The Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) National Community Anti-Drug
Institute defines coalitions as a “formal arrangement for collaboration between
groups or sectors of a community, in which each group retains its identity but all
agree to work together toward a common goal of building a safe healthy, and drug-free
community.” The successful anti-drug coalition will bring together the entire community
– parents, business, media, schools, colleges/universities, judiciary courts, a
representative that brings perspective on cultural diversity, Drug Alcohol Safety
Education Program officers youth-serving organizations, law enforcement, religious
or fraternal organizations, civic and volunteer groups, healthcare professionals,
elected officials, state and local government agencies with expertise in the field
of substance abuse, youth, and other organizations involved in reducing substance
abuse.
